  2. Brookline is a very family-oriented neighborhood. It appears everyone in town knew of Nate from Cannon Coffee. The neighborhood consists of one main road (Brookline Road) with branching roads leading to housing outside this main road. Brookline Road consists of elevated houses on one side with various shops on the other side, including apartment complexes on top of these shops. These shops are basically all private family-owned businesses. Strangely, there are at least five barber shops and three pizzerias along this road. According to interviews, Cannon Coffee seems to be one of the main attractions in Brookline. All in all, if you are looking for pizza and a haircut, Brookline is the place for you.

  3. Brookline is a suburban area about half an hour outside of Downtown Pittsburgh (by bus). We took a stop at Antonio's Pizza and talked to some of the locals there. They said the place to be on a Friday night is cheering on the Braschaer High School football team. Another hot spot is Brookline Memorial Park. This park is their recreational center. It has a pool, baseball diamonds, and is a cool place to hangout on the weekends. One of the men we spoke to at the pizza shop said the best place to eat in Brookline is Fiore's Pizza. The people of Brookline are average Pittsburgh goers, they root for the Pirates, Penguins, Steelers, and Pitt Panthers. For the most part they are very polite and welcoming, besides our "friend" at Cannon Coffee..

  4. When we arrived at Cannon Coffee the shop was just closing and their open mic night was on the horizon. We asked a young man if he knew Nate and he snidely said "Well, who's asking?" We told him who we were and that we were recommended to seek out Nate too learn more about Brookline for our project. With that, he sarcastically replied, "Nate has lots of projects too." Nevertheless, we did not deter from the task at hand and eventually revealed Nate's location: "Drunk at a bar somewhere." After hearing this we gave up our search for the elusive inebriate. However, not all hope was lost for Cannon Coffee, aside from the pretentious young man, everyone else there seemed happy and kind, and the place had a homey atmosphere.
Brookline has many unique features. The parking along Brookline road was all diagonal to save room. Brookline used to be connected to Downtown via trolley but now the bus line just rides along the tracks from Downtown to Brookline in a bus only tunnel.
